Overview of School in Beebe, Arkansas

Back to Structures that Transformed Education

The Beebe Colored School, as it was known during the era of “separate but equal” educational facilities, was built in 1944 in Beebe, Arkansas. This is the second school building on this site designated for African American education. The school was in use from 1944 to 1956, when in 1957 all African American students in White County were bussed to Searcy. Then this African American School served as a Church.
